Getting Involved

Serve in the Judicial Panel Pool or on the Board on Judicial Affairs

The Student Judicial Charter of 1997 sets forth the key components of the student judicial system at Stanford.

A crucial aspect of the system is the involvement of community members—students, staff and faculty—in the student judicial process.

Who May Join

Students, staff and faculty are encouraged to become involved in and serve on Stanford's Judicial Panel Pool and Board on Judicial Affairs.

How to Join

Students

Students serving on the Panel Pool and Board are jointly appointed by the Undergraduate Senate and Graduate Student Council of the Associated Students of Stanford University (ASSU), and may indicate an interest in joining by visiting the ASSU's Nominations Commission (NomCom) and filling out an application.

Staff

Staff serving on the Panel Pool and Board are appointed by the provost, and may indicate an interest in joining by contacting the Office of Community Standards.

Faculty

Faculty serving on the Panel Pool and Board are appointed by the Senate of the Academic Council (Faculty Senate), and may indicate an interest in joining by contacting the Faculty Senate's Chair or its Committee on Committees.
