Welcome to the Office of Community Standards.
The Stanford community strives to create meaningful change both on campus and in the world. A commitment to integrity permeates all aspects of campus life, and the Office of Community Standards (OCS) supports this mission by upholding two of Stanford's foundational principles: the Fundamental Standard and the Honor Code. Together, these standards articulate the values that unite us and outline the responsibilities that attend the great privilege of being at Stanford. Every member of the Stanford community plays an integral role in espousing these ideals and sustaining our culture of excellence.
Email Hoax Alert
The Office of Community Standards is aware of an email hoax targeting the Stanford community. These emails claim to be from OCS or the Office of the University Registrar and accuse the recipient of violating the Honor Code and include a subject line, “VIOLATION OF ACADEMIC INTEGRITY. THIS IS URGENT!” or “Notice of Alleged Honor Code Violation”. Please be aware that these emails are NOT authentic.
Be wary of unsolicited or unexpected emails, even if they appear to be from someone you know. Pay close attention to the email address used to send the message. If you receive such an email, please forward it to spam@stanford.edu or use the Phish Reporter Button in Microsoft Outlook. You can also read How to Forward a Suspected Spam or Phishing Email on the UIT website. If you have any further questions, please contact the Office of Community Standards at 650-725-2485 or write separately to community-standards@stanford.edu.
